ELIO, by TRIBU
Elio, referring to the Greek sun god Helios and designed by Canadian design firm Yabu Pushelberg, aims to capture a universally familiar, fleeting moment in time: a sunset. Inspired by the motion of light reflecting and refracting on landscapes and objects throughout the day, Elio captures the luminous, silky hues light conceives in the sky at dusk.
Elio is characterised by a softly rounded silhouette that draws inwards to create a cocoon effect. Elio armchairs, easy chairs, high-back lounge chairs and two-seaters are framed by natural teak, which supports the seating shell primarily through the back legs. The different chair styles combine harmoniously with each other and mix beautifully with our other collections.
In each piece, the handwoven seats draw upward and inward to create a warm, intimate shelter, enhanced by the sophisticated colours of the woven Tricord rope. Warm and inviting, the weaving fuses heritage textile techniques with contemporary solution dyeing to create a material that mimics the gentle touch of light. The rich gradient effect in the seat and backrest is achieved by weaving multiple colours of yarn into one strand, making each piece of furniture one-of-a-kind. The weaving is available in Linen, Wengé and Moss.
